About .....pittart.net
Glenda Pitt is an emerging, Australian artist presenting paintings and prints influenced by living on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland as well as frequent visits to her place of origin Melbourne, Victoria where she is currently residing. These two places have been of immense contrast. She has lived in cities and rural areas on the east coast, as well as overseas when travelling in earlier years. Like many artists she is also influenced by this ever changing world; the speed of everything, dramatic changes of our climate on our environments, the effect on human progress, expansion, movement of people and lifestyles.
Impressed by both Australian and European Masters e.g. Albert Namatjira, Arthur Streeton, Norman Lindsay, Lloyd Rees, Michelangelo, Rembrant, Beardsly and Dali from old, to her contemporaries like Roger Dean, Banksy, Ben Quilty and Linda Robinson. All very different in styles and often subject matter, but an indication of her desire to broaden her own style.
Glenda paints with acrylics, often mixing other mediums of water colour, gouache, charcoal, pastels and crayons. She has also flirted with ceramics and ephemeral materials creating her 'StikArt'. This has been a curiosity of interest in 3D use of recycled, up cycled, retro, vintage, found, natural and man-made materials into decorative wall hangings for kids and fun loving, nostalgic adults! If you're curious about her 'StikArt' products please contact her to enquire. All enquiries are welcome.
"Overall, painting and use of ones imagination to me, is just simple enjoyment to express the inner soul through visual creativity".
