'Icebreak'
This is from a series called 'Richer than Gold' hence the elaborate gold framing originally on many of these paintings. I selected these subjects in recognition of the importance of our awareness of climate change and its dramatic effects at the north and south poles which is now effecting our weather, population migrations and sea levels, etc. Motivation and inspiration came to me from an incredible north American artist Zaria Foreman who works with pastels on a grand scale.
